The event began with a report from the Head of Centre for Regulatory Assessment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources represented by Rusmanto as the Coordinator of the Health Assessment Function. "This Si-INTAN Workshop and Seminar has been designated as one of the annual routine agendas that will continue to be held as a good event to share ideas, experiences, learning, coaching, proposed solutions related to our efforts in radiation protection in medical exposure".

"Bapeten presents expert speakers from academics and hospital practitioners regarding the identification and prevention of potential unnecessary exposure, the role of management support in carrying out optimization, and the application of optimizations that we can apply throughout health facilities," added Rusmanto.

The workshop and seminar were opened by Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin. He said, it was stated that the current permit has followed the new regulations whose validity period has been extended from the original 2 to 3 years become 5 years, but the safety criteria must still be met "Although the validity period of the permit has been extended, ladies and gentlemen must guarantee safety in the field, for that we will prove, when we inspect the field to find out the safety criteria that have been carried out".

"We would like to thank the resource persons who will deliver the material and hopefully the Si-INTAN Workshop and Seminar in 2022 can run smoothly and be useful for all" said Zainal who immediately continued by opening this event.

Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga in her policy direction emphasized that the safety of radiology patients must be a common concern. "Guidance and supervision through regulation, licensing, and inspection, collaboration and harmonious division of roles with all interested parties in the use of radiation for medical purposes must also be grown so that it can provide safety in the use of ionizing radiation sources, which leads to the safety of workers, patients and their companions," said Dahlia.

The event was held in a hybrid manner on 13 July 2022, attended by 41 participants offline and 249 online. Participants came from workers in the hospital such as PPR, medical physicists, radiographers, doctors and hospital management. Also present were practitioners and experts and observers of radiation safety as well as academics and representatives from ministries/agencies in the relevant fields.

The seminar continued with a presentation moderated by Rusmanto, Coordinator of the Health Assessment Function Group. The presentation material included "Potential Unnecessary Exposure In The Use of RDI X-Ray Aircraft: Identification and Prevention" by a lecturer at the Department of Physics, Diponogoro University, Choirul Anam, "The Role of Hospital Management In Supporting The Effectiveness of The Implementation of Patient Radiation Protection Optimization" by Siloam Radiology Specialist Radiology Specialist Ni Ketut Sutariniasih and "Implementation of Patient Radiation Dose Optimization: Good Practice" by hospital radiology specialists.
