Technical Guidance for Risk-Based Licensing System (OSS RBA) on Import, Waste, and Transportation for Radioactive Materials Users in Special Region of Yogyakarta

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), held a Technical Guidance for Risk-Based Licensing System (OSS RBA) related to import, waste, and transportation for Radioactive Materials Users in the Province of Special Region of Yogyakarta on Wednesday (11/12/2024). The event was attended by 53 attendees from 23 companies using radioactive materials.
The event was opened with remarks by Acting Director of DPFRZR Ida Bagus Manuaba. Bagus conveyed that there are still obstacles in the process of importing, wasting, and transporting radioactive materials, so a formulation is needed to facilitate the licensing process at BAPETEN.
The event continued with two sessions of material presentation and discussion. The first session was led by Sugiyanto as the moderator, with the first speaker being Kristyo Rumboko, who delivered material on “Transportation of Radioactive Materials,” and continued by the second speaker, Supriatno, with material entitled “Waste of Radioactive Materials in the Scope of Industrial and Research Activities.”
The second session was led by M. Dradjat Kurniawan with speaker Nugraha Dwi Santosa, who discussed “Importation of Radioactive Materials.”
