The Inspection Team, chaired by the BAPETEN Health Facility Licensing Function Group (DPFRZR) Activity Manager Iin Indartati, with BAPETEN Radiation Supervisory team members Made Pramayuni, Yaya Umaya, and Dwi Angestiningsih, conducted verification for Radiotherapy Facilities with the modality of the Elekta brand, Linac machine, Synergy Platform type.

The Verification Team ensures that the design that has been built meets safety standards through calculations of the design of the radiation-resistant building and main equipment, supporting equipment, human resource competency, and operating procedures for Linac operational activities that have met radiation safety requirements.

The scope of the onsite inspection includes document and technical inspection of the suitability of the design of the built facility and the adequacy of the thickness of the radiation barrier in the radiotherapy bunker, ensuring the performance of the main equipment and supporting equipment, conducting radiation exposure measurements and dosimetry tests, ensuring patient flow and personnel capabilities in operating the Linac machine according to standards, inspecting radiation protection and safety equipment, and the performance of its safety system.

From the results of the verification of the radiotherapy operating permit, the hospital is committed to completing the findings submitted by the BAPETEN team within a certain time limit. The smooth running of the verification activities is supported by the hospital, which follows and welcomes the progress of the activities until the end; any deficiencies are considered as input and technical suggestions for fulfilling radiation safety according to applicable laws and safety standards.

Raden Mattaher Regional Hospital inaugurated the Radiotherapy Building of the Radiation Oncology Installation last September. It is hoped that a permit from BAPETEN will soon be issued to provide services for cancer patients, especially in Jambi City, so that there are no more people seeking treatment outside Jambi or even abroad.
