The topic of this FGD is to examine more deeply the patient release criteria that have been carried out by the hospital as part of the preparation of the Nuclear Medicine Patient Release Technical Guidelines.

Head of P2STPFRZR, Djoko Hari Nugroho, in his remarks said that the guidelines were made as a guide for hospitals in releasing patients who leave nuclear medicine facilities, so that it is safe for the community and patient's family. The IAEA also prepared patient release guidelines and some countries also have patient release criteria. Limit values on patient release have been set in various countries, whereas in Indonesia, it has to define patient release criteria based on conditions in Indonesia.

Next, presentation from Endang Kunarsih as the Activity Coordinator. In her presentation regarding the planning of the Patient Release Technical Guidelines for Nuclear Medicine, Endang explained the urgency of preparing guidelines, one of which is the potential risk to nuclear medicine patients due to using open radioactive substances for patients, so that the potential for radiation incidents to workers, public, and environment becomes larger (contamination of radioactive spills, radiation exposure from patients).

This FGD was also filled with presenters from practitioners of nuclear medicine of the Santosa Hospital Bandung Kopo and Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital who explained the patient release criteria that had been applied in their facilities.
