On the first day, the BAPETEN team, led by the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources - BAPETEN Ishak, visited the East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office (25/03). The visit was received by the Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, represented by the Secretary of the Health Office Masitah. The event was also attended by representatives of hospitals owned by East Kalimantan Province, namely Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Regional Public Hospital (RSUD AWS), Dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Regional Public Hospital, and Atma Husada Mahakam Regional Mental Hospital.

The event began with remarks from the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources - BAPETEN, who said "Coordination is needed to build cooperation with relatives agencies, so that nuclear power supervision can be integrated, increase awareness and compliance with laws and regulations in the use of nuclear power".

The event continued with a presentation about Licensing Sources of Ionizing Radiation in the Health Sector in the Province of East Kalimantan by senior staff of the Licensing for Health Facility Iin Indartati. The next presentation about Hospital Distribution Based on Classes A, B, C, and D With Active and Inactive Status in the Province of East Kalimantan by the Head of Health Services of East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office Soeharsono, then closed with discussion related to the issue of surveillance policies that are currently developing.

On the second day, BAPETEN team visited the One Stop Integrated Service and Investment Agency (DPMPTSP) of East Kalimantan Province (26/03). The team was received by the Head of the DPMPTSP of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Head of Complaints and Supporting Information Services Otty Eka, and his staff.

On this occasion, the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources -BAPETEN said, "We plan to open licensing service for radiology of diagnostic and interventional of X-ray aircraft, by placing several licensing evaluators of health facilities of BAPETEN in DPMPTSP office of East Kalimantan Province. This is an effort from us so that users can come for direct consultation if there is a problem in the process from applying permit of ionizing radiation sources or related to applying business permit of nuclear sector”.

“BAPETEN conducts supervision through regulations, permits, and inspections. The permit application process is carried out gradually for permit activities that have high risks, such as radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and radioisotope production. Supervision of the use of ionizing radiation sources is carried out through periodic inspections and law enforcement in case of violations," he added.

In the discussion, the Head of Complaints and Supporting Information Services said, “The plan to open BAPETEN permit service will be immediately followed up by the DPMPTSP of East Kalimantan Province. However, there is a fear of nuclear and radioactive dangers to the use of medical devices in the community of East Kalimantan Province, so an event is needed to give understanding to public."
