Verification of Radiotherapy Permit at H. Adam Malik Hospital and Dr Mohammad Hoesin Hospital
Kembali 06 Juni 2022 | Berita BAPETENBAPETEN through the Directorate of Radiation Facility Licensing and Radioactive Substances (DPFRZR) conducted onsite Radiotherapy Operation License Verification activities at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan City and Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang City which was carried out in parallel on May 31 – June 2 2022. Previously,the Online Verification activities against administrative requirements was held on May 25, 2022. Verification as a condition for issuing permits aims to ensure facilities, radiotherapy equipment, supporting equipment, human resources, and procedures that have met radiation safety requirements for the safety of workers, patients, the community and the environment.
The first Inspection Team was lead by the Director DRFRZR BAPETEN Ishak and his staff, while the second Inspection Team was lead by the Coordinator of the Health Facility Licensing Group-BAPETEN Iin Indartati and his staff. Both of them verified the modality of the Linac aircraft with the same type, namely the Electa Synergy.
Welcoming and assistance during the verification activities were carried out directly by the President Director of H. Adam Malik Zainal Safri Hospital, and the President Director of Dr. Moehammad Hoesin Hospital. The scope of inspection includes the suitability of the facility design and the adequacy of radiation barrier thickness in the radiotherapy bunker, ensuring the performance of main equipment and supporting equipment, measuring radiation exposure and dosimetry testing as well as ensuring patient flow and personnel ability to operate Linac aircraft according to standards.
From the permit verification results of the radiotherapy operation, the hospitals is are committed to completing the findings submitted by the BAPETEN team within a certain time limit. The verification activities was were supported by the Hospital who follows and welcomes the activity until the end, any deficiencies are considered as input and technical advice on the fulfillment of radiation safety in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. And the Hospital hopes that with the addition of the new Linac Aircraft modality as a National Referral Hospital, it can improve quality and superior radiotherapy services.
