Syarip stated that as the Implementing Agency, BATAN has facilities important assets for the application of nuclear technology in Indonesia. Syarip added, several universities havecooperated in the utilization of the IRL facility including UIN Malang, NU Blitar University, Tanjungpura University, and the University of Sharjah UEA.

Head of Legal, Cooperation, and Public Communication Bureau (BHKK) Indra Gunawan who also attended the signing of the PKS stated that the cooperation between BAPETEN and BATAN was a challenge related to the relationship between the two, one as a Supervisory Agency and the other as an Implementing Agency. But recognizing the need for synergy between the two as government agencies, Indra strongly supports the cooperation plans of BAPETEN and BATAN in launching the development of nuclear technology in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Yudi expressed his happiness that this cooperation had been formulated. He mentioned that he had heard many positive responses to IRL, which in his view could help BAPETEN so that the effectiveness of supervision and safety assurance could be maintained. Especially in the current pandemic situation, where we have to avoid continuous physical interaction, but the safety of nuclear installations can also remain guaranteed. (BHKK/Yasser/Bams/OR/RA)
