In order to improve the results of the study, especially in the field of Installation and Nuclear Materials (IBN), on Monday (02/24/2020) the Nuclear Materials Installation and Monitoring Supervision Study Forum was attended by the Chairman of BAPETEN, Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, representatives of each IBN cluster, FRZR assessment, and BHKK.

In his remarks, the Head of P2STPIBN Judi Pramono said that this forum was an annual agenda which was held once a year. "For the second year, we have information that RPM study is a priority and testing has been done related to the RPM," he said.

Furthermore, Judi added that there would be protocol for operations, maintenance and other documents for the RPM. Likewise, the RPM test certification will be a topic of discussion later. Testing is done by BATAN at PTKMR and LIPI. P2STPIBN proposes to procure 2 units of the same RPM to certify RPM products.

Meanwhile, The Chairman of BAPETEN Jazi Eko Istiyanto in his direction said that the opportunities and challenges of the study were enormous, for this reason IT could play a greater role in the supervision system. "We must put IT in supervision, for example there needs to be the latest breakthroughs in radiation detection," he said.

Jazi hopes that BAPETEN can find out whether the equipment installed at BATAN is working properly, "can we force BATAN to use certain programs such as SIMONPAKO, for example" said Jazi.

The one-day event was followed by presentations from several P2STPIBN staff related to the IBN study. (bhkk / bsb)
