Second Outreach for Call for Candidates: Assessment of Compliance with Patient Dose Reporting and Implementation of Diagnostic Guideline Levels (TPD)
Kembali 02 Mei 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 20 lihatThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Centre for the Regulatory Assessment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR), again held outreach to introduce a new program called Call for Candidates, inviting healthcare facilities to participate in an assessment of compliance with dose reporting and the implementation of Diagnostic Guideline Levels (Tingkat Panduan Diagnostik or TPD). This outreach was held online on Friday, May 2, 2025, and broadcast live on YouTube.
The purpose of this Call for Candidates is to identify, monitor, map, and/or measure the level of implementation of medical exposure optimization through compliance with dose reporting and compliance with the implementation of TPD, to encourage licensees to play a more active role in reporting patient radiation dose data to BAPETEN and implementing patient radiation dose optimization using TPD, and to encourage improvements in the quality of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and diagnostic nuclear medicine services to ensure patient radiation safety.
The socialization was opened by Rusmanto, the Lead of Health Assessment Activity, representing the Head of P2STPFRZR. In his opening remarks, he stated, "This socialization aims to address the numerous questions received from the committee regarding how to participate in the call for candidates. This event invites all hospitals and clinics that use ionizing radiation to participate. This includes not only hospitals and clinics that have reported patient dose data to BAPETEN but also those that have not yet done so; therefore, they can participate."
This was the second socialization and was attended by 60 participating healthcare facilities, both hospitals and clinics, that offer diagnostic radiology services (general/mobile radiography, CT scans, mammography, and dental radiography), interventional radiology (interventional fluoroscopy), and diagnostic nuclear medicine. The socialization was delivered by Senior Radiation Supervisor Endang Kunarsih, covering the reporting procedures, from registration requirements and assessment parameters to assessment result criteria. This was followed by a discussion and Q&A session with all participants.
This activity allows healthcare facilities to utilize it as a self-assessment tool to determine their level of achievement in patient dose recording, patient dose reporting, and TPD implementation for optimization. This will ultimately foster awareness and commitment to continuously improve, maintain, or enhance radiation safety for patients at their facilities. This will enhance the branding of their radiology services, demonstrating that they are recognized for providing services that prioritize radiation safety for patients. This will also serve as a role model for other healthcare facilities and become a BAPETEN partners in collaborative development to improve radiation safety for patients.
Healthcare facilities with good compliance scores will be recommended for BAPETEN Awards, while those with poor compliance scores will receive priority coaching/mentoring.
