The Verification Team ensures that the design that has been built has met safety standards through calculations of the design of radiation-resistant buildings and main equipment, supporting equipment, human resource competencies, and operating procedures for radiotherapy operational activities using both Linac and Brachytherapy, as well as Nuclear Medicine using PET CT with F-18 FDG radiopharmaceutical sources that have met radiation safety and source security requirements.

The inspection team, led by the Director of DPFRZR, Ishak, with team members Ahmad Maulana, Ilham Hidayat, Dewi Lelyana Maharani, Lilis Misnawati, and Naufal Alif Syarifuddin, conducted verification at the Dr. Ramelan Navy Central Hospital Surabaya regarding the addition of ionizing radiation sources for radiotherapy facility operation permits using the Elekta brand Linac machine, Infinity type, and Elekta brand Brachytherapy, Flexitron HDR type, with Co-60 source.

The hospital said that the addition of a brachytherapy machine at Hermina Hospital Bekasi is expected to improve health services, especially for cancer patients, through the Superior Service, namely the Oncology and Radiotherapy Service Center, to fight cancer together.

Meanwhile, the inspection team at Hermina Hospital, Bekasi City, and Tzu Chi Hospital was chaired by the Health Facility Licensing Function Group Activity Manager of BAPETEN, Iin Indartati, with team members Yaya Umaya, Wahyu Ramdhan, Toni Wahyu Pamungkas, and Tita Dewi Puspita conducting verification for the Radiotherapy Facility at Hermina Hospital, Bekasi, with the modality of the Bebig Saginova Brand Brachytherapy Machine, HDR Afterloading System Type with Co-60 source, and continued verification of the Nuclear Medicine Facility at Tzu Chi Hospital Jakarta using the Gamma PET CT Camera with the F-18 FDG radiopharmaceutical source.

"As an effort to improve superior services with the latest technology, the presence of PET CT at the Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Theranostics Clinic at Tzu Chi Hospital can be used for early detection of cancer, diagnosing cancer malignancy, and assisting in disease evaluation. Thus supporting the improvement of the quality of public health and encouraging a reduction in the interest of the Indonesian people to seek treatment abroad so that the potential for foreign exchange losses can be minimized," said the representative of Tzu Chi Hospital.

Meanwhile, for the Dr. Ramelan Navy Central Hospital in Surabaya, the addition of radiotherapy equipment using Linac and Brachytherapy is a continuous service innovation in the development of the One-Stop Oncology Center, as an effort to improve cancer treatment in East Java and Indonesia in general.

The scope of the onsite inspection includes document and technical inspection of the suitability of the design of the built facility and the adequacy of the thickness of the radiation barrier in the radiotherapy bunker, ensuring the performance of the main equipment and supporting equipment, conducting radiation exposure measurements and dosimetry testing, ensuring patient flow and personnel capabilities in operating the Linac, Brachytherapy, and PET CT machine according to standards, inspection of protection equipment and radioactive source security, and the performance of the radioactive source security system.

From the results of the verification of the radiotherapy and nuclear medicine operating permits, the Hospital is committed to completing the findings submitted by the BAPETEN team within a certain time limit.
