The event began with a report on the implementation of training by the Sub-Coordinator of Implementation and Training Facilities Ummul Khair. In her report, she said that this training aims to provide an understanding of the safety elements of radioactive sources, and provide the ability to compile radioactive source safety documents as procedures for securing radioactive sources in the work environment of permit holders. The facilitators in this training are all from BAPETEN.

The event was opened by the Head of Education and Training Division Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin, in his opening remarks said "Since 2021, this PKSR training has been carried out by training institutions outside BAPETEN, namely BATAN which was eventually merged into BRIN. In coordination between BAPETEN and BRIN, the implementation of PKSR training is temporarily carried out by BAPETEN. This training is a mandate stated in the PP. No. 33 of 2007 concerning Safety of Ionizing Radiation and Security of Radioactive Sources (KSR), it is stated that Permit Holders are obliged to improve the ability of personnel working in facilities, or installations through education and training on radiation protection and safety."

"It is hoped that by participating in this training participants will get information, knowledge and expertise in KSR. Hopefully all participants can take part in the training as a whole or there are no obstacles and all are healthy so that they can absorb the existing knowledge." He added.

The training, which was held classically for 5 days, from 28 November to 2 December 2022, attended by 19 participants from various industrial and medical companies/institutions in Indonesia.

The event was held at BAPETEN Education Center Cisarua–Bogor and. continued with various presentations and practicums on KSR efforts and handling KSR events and evaluating the KSR system, both in use, storage, and transportation in handling radioactive sources.
