Coordination Meeting for Discussion of Memorandum of Understanding between BAPETEN and the East Java Provincial Government on Collaborative Supervision

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) and the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) conducted a discussion of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Implementation of Collaborative Supervision of the Utilization of Nuclear Energy, Radiation Facilities, and Radioactive Materials (FRZR) in Malang, August 21, 2024. This activity aims to follow up on the proposed cooperation between BAPETEN and the East Java Provincial Government regarding the implementation of collaborative supervision of the utilization of nuclear energy in the FRZR sector.
The East Java Provincial Government, represented by Muryanto Eko Priyono in his remarks, said that the cooperation that was built must be able to be applied, have a positive impact on the East Java Provincial Government, and correlate with the main tasks and functions of the regional government.
Furthermore, the Director of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR), Asep Saefullah, and the Head of Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Indra Gunawan, in their remarks emphasized the importance of this collaborative supervision in order to increase the scope of inspections and improve user compliance with nuclear energy regulations.
In the discussion of this cooperation document, an agreement has been reached on the technical content aspect and will be continued to the signing process by both parties. This activity invited 13 OPDs (Regional Apparatus Organization) of the East Java Provincial Government who were directly involved in the preparation of the cooperation document between BAPETEN and the East Java Provincial Government.
