BAPETEN Working Visit to the Central Java Provincial Health Office
Kembali 03 September 2020 | Berita BAPETENThe Directorate of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources (DPFRZR) BAPETEN conducted a Work Visit to the Central Java Provincial Health Office, Thursday (03/09). The visit, which was attended by the Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection of BAPETEN, Zainal Arifin, was carried out to improve the effectiveness of monitoring the use of nuclear energy, especially in the health sector.
The event began with a speech by the Head of the Central Java Provincial Health Office Yulianto Prabowo. In his remarks, Yulianto said that a source of ionizing radiation was also needed in the Covid-19 diagnostics.
"The diagnosis of Covid-19, apart from swab, there is a major symptom of pneumonia. Pneumonia is diagnosed from a lung photo", explained Yulianto.
Furthermore, the remarks were continued by the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources Ishak, who said that this visit was intended to coordinate, especially in exchanging data and information on nuclear power utilization facilities in Central Java.
"Through this visit, we want to be more proactive in knowing the problems related to licensing properly, especially those in the regions, so that the handling can also be more precise," continued Ishak.
The event was continued with a discussion and presentation from the Central Java Provincial Health Office regarding data on existing facilities in Central Java by dr. Atin Suhesti as the Head of Reference Health Services, and a presentation on the Licensing for the Utilization of Ionizing Radiation Sources in the Health Sector in the Central Java Region by Mukhlisin as the Health Licensing Coordinator of BAPETEN.
