The implementation of radiological patient protection from the use of ionizing radiation when undergoing examination or medical measures is carried out with a tool, diagnostic reference level (DRL). These DRL values nationally will be set on 25 May 2021 namely Indonesian diagnostic reference level (I-DRL). In connection with the determination of the DRL value, the Regulatory Assessment Centre for System and Technology in Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources (P2STPFRZR) on Wednesday, 19 May 2021 resumed the 3rd Focus Group Discussion (FGD) attended by representatives of all stakeholders related to DRL, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), PDSRKI, PERSI, AFISMI, KARS, PARI, PTKMR - BATAN, Poltekkes Jakarta II, Poltekkes Semarang, University of Indonesia, Diponegoro University, and representatives of vertical hospitals, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Dharmais Cancer Hospital, and Hasan Sadikin Hospital were held online and attended by 30 participants.

FGD was opened by the Head of P2STPFRZR, Taruniyati Handayani, she conveyed the important role of stakeholders in realizing the determination of DRL values so that the protection of patients can be achieved. Then followed by instructions from the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Dahlia C.Sinaga, she said the 3rd FGD is in the framework of setting DRL values for 2 modalities, General Radiography and CT Scan. She was also conveyed that at the time of DRL value determination on 25 May 2021, there will be signatories to commitments from all stakeholder representatives. FGD continued with 2 main agendas that will be topics in FGD this time, the role of stakeholders related to the implementation of I-DRL, and the period of I-DRL implementation or the period for review I-DRL guided by the Coordinator of Health Assessment, Rusmanto.

The discussion was interesting with many inputs related to the role of stakeholders in the implementation of I-DRL delivered by representatives of relevant parties. One of the discussions that took place related to the collaborative role of Medical Physicists, Radiographers, Radiologists and /or PPR in carrying out evaluation / review of patient doses so that further efforts can be made in order to follow up optimization improvements periodically.
