Webinar “Policy on the Supervision of Radiotherapy Facility and Technological Developments and The Medical Physics Profession in Radiotherapy"
Kembali 19 Oktober 2020 | Berita BAPETENBAPETEN held a webinar related to radiotherapy. This webinar was held with theme "Policy on the Supervision of Radiotherapy Facilities and Development of Technology and Medical Physics Profession in Radiotherapy" through zoom application and broadcast live on youtube channel, Monday (19/10).
The event began with a directive by Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, who opened the event. Zainal said that this webinar is the 5th (fifth) medical field webinar conducted by BAPETEN. Zainal also explained, "The use of radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology, there is a requirement for medical physicists.Medical physics exists as a profession and as a functional position, which of course must also be understood and observed together".
Furthermore, Zainal is grateful for the implementation of this webinar, so that communication can be established between BAPETEN, medical physics, and medical physics users.
The event was continued with a presentationthat moderated by by Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources Ishak. The first presentation by Zainal Arifin related to "Radiation Facility Supervision Policy in The Field of Health" and presentation related to "Technological Development and Preparation of Human Resources of Radiotherapy Medical Physicists in Indonesia" by the Chairman of the Alliance of Indonesian Medical Physicists (AFISMI) / Lecturer in Physics FMIPAUniversity of Indonesia Supriyanto Ardjo Pawiro.
Supervision of the utilization of nuclear energy in Indonesia is carried out by BAPETEN and the implementation of the mandate of Law No.10, 1997.This supervision must be implemented in order to ensure the safety, security, and purposes of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Currently in Indonesia, the total medical physicists themselves numbered 438 consisting of radiotherapy as many as 114, diagnostic and interventional radiology as many as 306, and nuclear medicine as many as 18 medical physicists.
The webinar was attended by 100 participants. The enthusiasm of the participants was prove from the many questions asked by the participants to the speakers.[BHKK/IP/RA/OR]
