Visitation of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, Jakarta Campus to the BAPETEN Education and Training Division

The Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM) Jakarta Campus, conducted a visit in order to present in detail about the law program in FH UGM at the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) on Friday, August 23, 2024. This activity was carried out to provide information for the pilot activities of the Master of Law degree for BAPETEN employees.
The Head of the Education and Training Division, Ahmad Ciptadi, in his presentation welcomed the arrival of the FH UGM Jakarta Campus and the desire to carry out a pilot collaboration on the Master of Law education path with the FH UGM Jakarta Campus. "The main task of BAPETEN according to Law No. 10 of 1997 is to create and develop regulations, issue permits, and carry out inspections. Currently, in BAPETEN there are three work units whose human resources require increased legal competence and are closely related to legal science, namely the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation and Public Communication (BHKK), the Directorate of Regulation of Nuclear Installations and Materials (DP2IBN), and the Directorate of Regulation of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DP2FRZR). Coordinator of the Health Facility Licensing Function Group of the Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR). Today's activity is the initial step in pioneering the development of legal competence in BAPETEN," he added.
Head of the Master of Law Study Program, FH UGM, Ninik, said that the program at the Jakarta Campus has existed since 2001. "There are three departments at FH UGM, namely Business Law, Master of Litigation Law, and Master of Immigration Law. The programs are regular and collaborative, for example, the Attorney General's Office, Directorate General of Immigration, PLN, PT Hutama Karya, and LPSK. Not all collaborative programs are managed in special classes; special classes are only opened if the organization/company sends more than 20 employees to study at the Master of Law UGM".
At the end of the event, the Head of the Training Division expressed his gratitude to FH UGM Jakarta Campus for visiting BAPETEN. He is optimistic that this activity can help accelerate the process of pioneering the Master of Law Program at FH UGM Jakarta Campus. After this visitation, the training center will design a pilot degree program and submit it to the BAPETEN leadership so that the results will be reported to UGM.
