Visit of Delegation of Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia: Workshop on Radiation Safety and Radioactive Waste Management Project, Office of I-CoNSEP BAPETEN
Kembali 23 Oktober 2024 | Berita BAPETENThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Technical Support and Nuclear Emergency Preparedness (DKKN), received a visit from the Delegation of the Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) in the “Workshop on Radiation Safety and Radioactive Waste Management Project” Office of I-CoNSEP on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at BAPETEN.
The activity was attended by Acting Director of DKKN Agus Yudhi Pristianto, who opened the event. The visit was also attended by 10 FNCA delegates from Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Mongolia, Malaysia, and six participants from Indonesia.
The event was opened by Agus Yudhi Pristianto, who delivered a speech: "The utilization of nuclear science and technology is currently growing. Radioactive sources are an important component of the utilization of nuclear energy in various fields, including industry, medicine, research, and development. There is still much that BAPETEN needs to improve to strengthen national capabilities".
Then the speech was delivered by the representative of FNCA Wada Tomoaki and principal researcher of the Research Center for Nuclear Material and Radioactive Waste Technology—BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) Dadong Iskandar. FNCA is a new cooperation framework platform between Asian countries established at the International Conference for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia.
After the speech, the activity continued with a presentation from Dewi Apriliani—DKKN, BAPETEN regarding "Indonesia Center of Excellence on Nuclear Security and Emergency Preparedness (I-CoNSEP)" and "Implementation of Indonesia—Radiation Data Monitoring System (I-RDMS)" by Aditia An'amta from BAPETEN.
The activity was closed by conducting a technical visit in the Emergency Response Room of DKKN. The technical visit included an explanation of I-RDMS (NMC) and MONA as well as an explanation of the Radiation Measuring Instrument (AUR) and other emergency response support tools.
