The Third Phase of Radiation Protection and Safety Training Interventional Radiology
Kembali 10 Juni 2024 | Berita BAPETENThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Education and Training Division, held the Radiation Protection and Safety Training Activity (PKR) for Interventional Radiology Phase III at the BAPETEN Education and Training Division in Cisarua, Bogor, on June 10 to 14, 2024.
The training activity (PKR) for Interventional Radiology Phase III aims to provide responsibility in radiation protection and safety, emphasizing the importance of implementing radiation protection and safety while carrying out work related to radiation, especially services in intervention facilities.
Based on the report of the Head of the Nuclear Energy Supervision Training Working Group, Dessy Susanti explained, "The participants who took part in the training were 32 participants consisting of 17 specialist doctors (Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Heart and Blood Vessels, Neurosurgery, Nerves/Neurologists), 15 participants (Radiographers, Nurses, Anesthesia Administrators), from 20 private and government hospitals. The training was also carried out in the form of a practical test that will be carried out at Siloam Hospital Bogor at the end of the activity, in accordance with the presentation of the material that has been delivered, starting from personal protective equipment (PPE) to the procedure."
The event was continued by a speech from the Head of Education and Training Division, Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin, who said, "This radiation protection and safety training is the most important basic training that must be possessed by all protection officers, and of course for us as a supervisory body, it is in line with our duties in order to develop nuclear and radiation knowledge development in a wider scope in accordance with the principle of prioritizing safety and security for patients, the community, and of course the surrounding environment."
The training activity ended with a final exam given by the teachers with a minimum passing grade. It is hoped that this activity will be able to increase understanding of the effects of radiation and provide knowledge and guidelines for radiation protection and safety. (BHKK/CD/Translator: GP)
