The highlight of the 25th commemoration of Hakteknas 2020 event will be held semi-virtual from the B.J Habibie Building and will be part of the 74th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, and also attended virtually by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Minister of Research and Technology / Head of National Agency for Research and Innovation Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro officially opened a series of activities to commemorate the 25th National Technology Awakening Day.

The event, which was held on 10 August 2020, at the Auditorium B.J. Habibie Building Jakarta, was attended by officials from Ristek/BRIN and non-ministerial government agency (LPNK) including from Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN). From BAPETEN was attended by the Chairman of BAPETEN Jazi Eko Istiyanto and Plt. Deputy Chairman for Administration of BAPETEN Indra Gunawan.

The Minister of Research and Technology / Head of National Agency for Research and Technology at the beginning of the event reported, “During the past 25 years, various innovation products have been continuously developed by various R & D institutions and industries, as a solution on various fronts towards innovation-based economic independence. 10 August 2020 is a new step in the journey of a Quarter Century National Technology Awakening."

"Hakteknas 2020 will focus on showing the contribution of our research excellence and innovation for "Indonesian National Independence". It is the determination of all of us to create an independent, advanced, and prosperous of Indonesia. Let's transform Indonesia from a natural resources to a innovation based country."

Vice President of the RI KH. Ma'ruf Amin, who was present virtually, gave directions while launching the 25th Hakteknas by placing a palm on the hologram screen which marked the start of the series of 25th Hakteknas commemoration events. This event was also attended directly by 100 invited guests and around 500 participants virtually.

On that occasion, the Vice President of the RI advised, "Research, development, assessment, and application (R&D) become the main stream in increasing the nation's independence by increasing domestic innovation, buying, and proud of Indonesian products.
