The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Center for Regulatory Assessment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR), held Technical Guidance (Bimtek) regarding the Introduction of Diagnostic Reference Level (DRL) and Patient Dose Data Information Systems (Si-INTAN) as well as Patient Dose Reporting Practices for Mammography and Dental Radiography Modalities on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Padang. The event was attended by 13 offline participants and 41 online participants, representing health service facilities from the West Sumatra region and surrounding areas. This technical guidance is carried out in order to provide National Diagnostic Guide Level (TPD) values (Indonesian Diagnostic Guide Level) as a guide for medical practitioners in implementing and increasing the effectiveness of optimizing radiation protection for diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and diagnostic nuclear medicine patients.

The event was kicked off by Health Assessment Coordinator Rusmanto, who stated that the use of ionizing radiation sources in medical settings should not be done carelessly. There are provisions and rules that must be followed because radiation, while providing many benefits, also poses risks. It also explains the dose audit, which compares the hospital's local dose value to the national TPD value.

The first presentation was by Endang Kunarsih, who delivered material on Introduction to Diagnostic Reference Level (DRL) and Dose Audit. Followed by material on Introduction to Si-INTAN and the Practice of Reporting Patient Dosage Data manually by Ida Bagus Gede Putra Pratama, who explains the regulatory basis, benefits, modalities, preparation for use, and stages of Si-INTAN. There are four stages: registration (including hospital profile and PIC profile), modality data input (including modality brand and model, availability of dose information, suitability test date, accuracy deviation, and suitability test certificate), patient dose data input, and feedback report.

BAPETEN also provides guidance to participants regarding how to report dose data to BAPETEN. This session is also used by technical guidance participants to consult if they experience difficulties in inputting the required data. The event closed with a discussion and a question-and-answer session.

With this technical guidance, it is hoped that the reporting of patient dose data, especially for mammography and dental radiography modalities, either manually or via the Si-INTAN application, can continue to increase so that sufficient data is obtained for determining the National DRL, which is planned to be carried out at the beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2024.
