Technical Guidance for the Collaborative Inspection of BAPETEN and DPMPTSP of West Java Province
Kembali 06 Juni 2024 | Berita BAPETENThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR), has again collaborated to strengthen the supervision activities for the use of ionizing radiation and radioactive substances in Indonesia so that safety and security are created for workers, the community, and the environment from the dangers of ionizing radiation on June 6, 2024, online.
To follow up on this collaboration, BAPETEN, in collaboration with the West Java Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP), carried out a Basic Radiation Safety Technical Guidance (Bimtek) activity aimed at DPMPTSP personnel from 27 districts/cities in the West Java region. There are 72 (seventy-two) supervisory personnel who attended this technical guidance.
In addition to DPMPTSP supervisory personnel, the West Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office was also present. In this technical guidance activity, the material focused on radiation safety in the industrial sector.
The technical guidance was opened by Asep Saefulloh Hermawan as DIFRZR, who said that supervision of UMKU business permits related to the use of nuclear energy must still be carried out even though there are budget limitations. Therefore, collaboration with the local government is needed in supervising the use of nuclear energy.
Denni Rusyana, as Secretary of the DPMPTSP service, said that there are more than 31,000 projects in the West Java region, some of which must use ionizing radiation sources. So this technical guidance is expected to develop the competence of DPMPTSP personnel in carrying out business supervision in order to create a fast and safe investment climate.
The technical guidance material this time was presented by Bambang Riyono regarding the material of Inspection of Supervision of Nuclear Energy Utilization, Novriman Livia who presented the material of BAPETEN Supervision Objects in the industrial and research sectors, Muhammad Rizki who presented the material of BAPETEN Supervision Objects in the Health Sector, Btara Panjiweda who presented the material of the concept of division of work areas, personal protective equipment (PPE), and dose measurement, and Ilham Hidayat with the material of the concept and implementation of collaborative inspection.
It is hoped that with the various collaborations carried out by BAPETEN, it will be able to strengthen the supervision activities of the utilization of ionizing radiation and radioactive substances in Indonesia in industrial and research facilities so that safety and security for workers, the community, and the environment from the dangers of ionizing radiation will be created optimally.
