Finalization Meeting of Netron Dose Monitoring Needs Study on Radiation Workers at Linac 10 MV Facility
Kembali 11 Desember 2020 | Berita BAPETENCenter of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Sources Regulatory Assessment (P2STPFRZR) held a Finalization Meeting on The Study of Netron Dose Monitoring Needs for Radiation Workers in the Operation of Linac ≥ 10 MV aircraft on Friday, 11 December 2020. The event was held online, invited all technical work units and supervisory work units at BAPETEN and was attended by 26 representative participants.
The Finalization Meeting was opened by the Head of P2STPFRZR Taruniyati Handayani who said that the study will provide several recommendations for licensing work units, regulations and inspections in conducting supervision, especially in radiotherapy facilities. The directive from Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Dahlia C.Sinag said that all equipment used in the utilization of nuclear energy should be seen the potential radiation hazards that can appear, for radiotherapy facilities the appearance of netron during the operation of linac ≥ 10 MV aircraft should be taken into account. If at the time of initial design linac room already takes into account the presence of netron, it will be able to minimize the effect of netron radiation for patients and radiation workers in particular.
The main event is the presentation of the results from Netron Dose Monitoring Study on Radiation Workers in the Operation of Linac Aircraft with Photon Energy ≥ 10 MV delivered by Leily Savitri. Exposure begins with background, literature review, data processing results, discussions, conclusions and recommendations.
At the end of the meeting session, discussions and Q&A were conducted to get input and responses from all participants to improve the results of the study. At the end, Taruniyati expressed her gratitude for the feedback. [P2STPFRZR/Iswandarini/BHHK/YL/RA/OR]
