Fathoni.

The event began with remarks from Haendra Subekti, who highlighted the importance of establishing a strong food irradiation ecosystem in Indonesia. "This is in line with the second Asta Cita, which emphasizes self-reliance in food, energy, and water," he stated.

Zainal Arifin officially opened the event by stating that its purpose is to strengthen Indonesia’s food security so that it becomes sovereign and competitive. According to him, food irradiation technology is proof of safe food security innovation, and in the future, collaboration across institutions will be essential.

The event also featured a panel discussion on the theme Food Irradiation Ecosystem for Food Security. The discussion was moderated by the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR) Asep Saefulloh Hermawan, with panelists Abdul Rahman, Sondang Widya Estikasari and Nurul Fatia Jannah.

At the end of the event, a symbolic signing of a collaboration charter was carried out between BAPETEN and the attending stakeholders. It is expected that this event will strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in realizing local food security based on safe irradiation technology. [BHKK/Da]
