BAPETEN Holds Regulatory Guidance Activity on Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials with Stakeholders in the Special Region of Yogyakarta
Kembali 13 November 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 13 lihatThe Directorate of Regulation of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DP2FRZR) of BAPETEN held a hybrid meeting on November 13, 2025, to develop regulations for radiation facilities and radioactive materials together with stakeholders in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
The event began with a briefing on activity preparation delivered by Soegeng Rahadhy, Activity Manager of the Regulatory Function Group for Health, Industry, and Research. In his report, he stated that the activity was organized by inviting 70 institutions to attend onsite and 172 institutions to attend online, representing various sectors including industrial, medical, and research users, relevant ministries/agencies and local government offices, as well as professional associations and academic institutions.
The event was officially opened by the Director of DP2FRZR, Mukhlisin. He emphasized that the level of risk in the nuclear sector varies widely and requires proportional supervision. As the institution responsible for overseeing nuclear utilization in Indonesia, BAPETEN must ensure that safety and security remain top priorities. “We hope that the participants present can provide input so that the regulations can be implemented in the best possible manner,” Mukhlisin stated.
The Acting Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Mr. Imam Pratanadi, attended the regulatory outreach activity and delivered opening remarks. In his speech, Imam welcomed the BAPETEN team and participants from outside the Special Region of Yogyakarta, noting that their presence contributed to the region’s tourism revenue. He also delivered a presentation on the implementation of risk-based business licensing in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
A presentation on BAPETEN’s Oversight Policy for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials was delivered by Mukhlisin. He explained BAPETEN’s vision, mission, and strategic policy direction for 2025–2029, which supports the vision of the President and Vice President for the 2025–2029 period, “Advancing Indonesia Together Towards Golden Indonesia 2045.” He highlighted BAPETEN's collaborative oversight efforts in the health, research, and industrial sectors with various ministries and institutions to ensure optimal services for all stakeholders. At the end of his presentation, Mukhlisin also discussed emerging opportunities related to protecting food commodities from radionuclide contamination.
The next presentation was delivered by Aris Sanyoto, Activity Manager of the Regulatory Function Group for Radiation Protection and Environmental Safety, who presented Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025 on Risk-Based Business Licensing Implementation. This was followed by a presentation from Senior Radiation Supervisor, Nanang Triagung Edi Hermawan, on the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency Regulation concerning Business Activity Standards and/or Product/Service Standards in the Implementation of Risk Based Business Licensing for the Nuclear Sector.
During the discussion session, participants showed strong enthusiasm by raising questions, providing feedback, and offering input regarding BAPETEN policies and the regulatory framework related to risk based business licensing in the nuclear sector. In general, participants requested further clarification on licensing requirements, licensing procedures and workflows, personnel qualification requirements, radioactive waste management, and licensing service fees.
