BAPETEN Conducts On-the-Spot Nuclear Energy Census in Central Java

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Inspection for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR), conducted an on-the-spot nuclear energy sector census at the Central Java Provincial Health Office auditorium on September 16 and 17, 2025. This event, held in collaboration between BAPETEN and the Central Java Provincial Health Office, was attended by representatives from 100 healthcare and industrial facilities across the Central Java region.
The event was opened by Zulkarnain, Director of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials at BAPETEN, alongside leadership from the Central Java Provincial Health Office. In his opening remarks, Zulkarnain affirmed the commitment to ongoing collaborative oversight with the Central Java Provincial Health Office. This synergy aims to ensure effective and efficient safety oversight regarding the use of nuclear technology through integrated, joint supervisory efforts.
This census plays a vital role in accurately mapping the use of radiation sources and radioactive materials in Central Java. The data collected will strengthen the supervision and control of radiation facilities to ensure public and environmental safety.
