The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) held the 97th Mother’s Day Commemoration on December 22, 2024, as an effort to honor and appreciate the struggles of Indonesian women in achieving and contributing to independence, which are inseparable from the nation’s history.

The commemoration of Mother’s Day on December 22 represents the Indonesian nation’s appreciation for the struggle and dedication of women in fighting for and contributing to independence. This commemoration is not merely ceremonial, nor is it a celebration of "Mother’s Day"; rather, it is a profound expression of appreciation for all Indonesian women in every role and capacity, whether within the family, society, the nation, or the state.

The 2025 Mother’s Day Commemoration Ceremony was held at the BAPETEN office courtyard and was attended by Echelon I and II officials, along with their respective staff and all BAPETEN employees. This year’s National Mother’s Day carries the theme "Empowered and Creative Women Towards Golden Indonesia 2045." The theme serves as a reminder that women are not merely beneficiaries of development, but key drivers of change. Indonesian women work amid various limitations, yet continue to serve as pillars of the family economy, guardians of cultural values, community leaders, technological innovators, entrepreneurs, and stewards of sustainable life.

In the address of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic Indonesia, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, delivered by the Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, Zainal Arifin, as the ceremony supervisor, it was stated that "Women and mothers are the face of this nation’s resilience. In both domestic and public spheres, amid digital challenges and changing times, Indonesian women are present working, creating, nurturing life, and ensuring the continuity of generations. Therefore, their voices today must not only be heard, but must also serve as the foundation for public policy, development strategies, and the direction of the nation’s future."
