Submission of Application for Extension of Operating License of TRIGA 2000 Reactor Bandung
Kembali 29 Mei 2024 | Berita BAPETENBAPETEN's Directorate of Licensing for Nuclear Installations and Materials (DPIBN) received a visit from the TRIGA 2000 Reactor team at BAPETEN on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. This visit was carried out to apply for an extension of the Bandung TRIGA 2000 Reactor operating license.
The TRIGA 2000 team was led by TRIGA 2000 Reactor Function Implementation Coordinator Abdul Rohim Iso Suwarso accompanied by TRIGA 2000 Nuclear Material Accounting and Reactor Planning Subcoordinator Prasetyo Basuki, TRIGA 2000 Reactor Operations and Maintenance Subcoordinator Yayat Supriyatna, Bandung Nuclear Area (KNB) Safety and Engineering Coordinator Afida Ikawati and TRIGA 2000 Reactor Quality Assurance Subcoordinator Dwi Yuliansari. The arrival of the TRIGA 2000 team was received by Acting Director of DPIBN Adi Dradjat Noerwasana and a team of DPIBN evaluators.
This meeting is a follow-up to the letter sent by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) with number B-1573/II.6.5/IR.03.03/5/2024 dated May 28, 2024, regarding the Extension of the TRIGA 2000 Reactor Operating License, this is done considering that the operating license will expire on May 29, 2027.
Based on Article 48 of Government Regulation Number 2 of 2014 on Licensing of Nuclear Installations and Utilization of Nuclear Materials, it is stated that the application for extension of the operating license is submitted in writing to the Chairman of BAPETEN within a minimum period of three years before the expiration of the license.
Adi Drajat in his remarks and directions expressed his welcome to the TRIGA 2000 team at BAPETEN in the context of the TRIGA 2000 reactor license extension plan. The arrival of the TRIGA team is a form of commitment of the TRIGA 2000 reactor in operating the reactor.
The TRIGA 2000 Reactor Function Implementation Coordinator in his remarks conveyed the purpose of arriving at BAPETEN to submit a written application in the context of extending the TRIGA 2000 Reactor operating license by attaching Safety Analysis Report (LAK) documents, Periodic Safety Assessment Reports (PKB), operation reports and aging study reports.
The agenda continued with a discussion which can be concluded that BAPETEN will immediately respond to the letter through an official letter stating that BAPETEN has received the documents submitted and the follow-up that will be carried out. Next, BAPETEN will conduct a completeness check of the documents submitted based on the applicable laws and regulations and submit the results of the document completeness check.
If the documents are declared incomplete, BAPETEN will inform BRIN to complete the documents, and if the documents are declared complete, BAPETEN will issue a billing code related to the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) fee for the extension of the reactor operating license that must be paid by BRIN.
