The event was opened by BAPETEN Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga, in her opening remarks saying "Perppu No. 2 of 2022 is temporary and will soon become a replacement law for Law No. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. It is expected that stakeholders can support its implementation to achieve an advanced society."

Plt. Chairman of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo in his speech said "Perppu No. 2 of 2022 has the same legal force as the law because it is a substitute for the law. This regulation revokes Law No. 11 of 2020 and will soon be enacted into law after obtaining approval from the DPR. In general, there are no significant changes."

"BAPETEN has improved the integration of OSS licensing and simplified the licensing process and changed the license from each source to each agency. In addition, there is an increase in the validity period of the permit which is now 5 years. The license is issued by BKPM on behalf of the Ministry / Agency, in this case, BAPETEN. BAPETEN provides technical recommendations and approvals that become the basis for BKPM to issue nuclear power utilization permits. Starting today, a change of reference is made, so that the permit or approval document has changed reference because the law that previously served as a reference is no longer valid," he added.

The speech was continued by Assistant Deputy for Increasing Economic Competitiveness of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Ichsan Zulkarnaen who said "Appreciation to BAPETEN for the implementation of the socialization of Perppu No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation. The background of the issuance of Perppu No. 2 of 2022 is the urgent need to fill the legal vacuum to deal with the uncertainty of global economic conditions which have an impact on the inflation of rising food prices that Indonesia has felt. The presence of the Perppu strengthens the domestic side to encourage structural transformation to help the community and business actors."

This socialization is a series of socializations that have been carried out on Thursday 5 January 2023, for BAPETEN internally. This activity aims to disseminate information contained in the regulation to stakeholders and the public. The event, which was attended by 171 participants, invited BAPETEN stakeholders both in the field of radiation facilities and radioactive materials as well as nuclear installations and nuclear materials.

The event continued with a presentation on "Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 on Job Creation" by BAPETEN Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga and a discussion moderated by BAPETEN Radiation Protection and Environmental Safety Regulatory Function Group Coordinator Aris Sanyoto. Topics in the discussion session included the licensing system, changes in KTUN, changes in substance in the Perppu, license requirements, decommissioning of ionizing radiation sources, and review of PP No. 5 of 2021.
