Seminar Si-INTAN 2023

In an effort to strengthen, grow, and increase awareness and concern for radiation safety assurance for radiology patients, BAPETEN held a "Si-INTAN Seminar", as a place for dissemination, socialization, sharing knowledge and experience in an effort to apply the principles of justification and optimization of radiation protection and safety in medical exposure. The seminar held on Wednesday, 6 September 2023 at the BAPETEN office in a hybrid.

The Si-INTAN 2023 seminar carries the theme "Strengthening Protection Optimization in Patients through Dose Audits and Diagnostic Guidance Levels (TPD)". This seminar presented material presentation and discussion related to the implementation of effective radiation protection optimization by experts and practitioners from agencies/institutions/associations and presentation of several research papers by participants from medical practitioners, hospitals and academics.

imgkontenimgkontenThe activity was opened with an activity report by Endang Kurnasih from the Centre for Regulatory Assesment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR) who conveyed "The purpose of this seminar is to disseminate the application of justification and optimization of radiation protection in medical exposure in ensuring the safety of radiology patients and a place to share knowledge and experience in efforts to apply the principles of justification and optimization of radiation protection and safety in the medical field".

Chairman of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo who said "The theme of the Si-INTAN Seminar this time is expected to strengthen, grow, and increase awareness and concern for radiation safety assurance for radiology patients, can trigger innovative ideas in the practice of optimizing patient radiation dose management and radiation protection for workers".

imgkontenimgkontenSeminar was attended by keynote speakers, namely Eko Purnomo from the Indonesian Nuclear Medicine Association (PKNI), Asep Taufik from the Indonesian Alliance of Medical Physicists (AFISMI). The seminar participants consisted of 25 short presentation participants and 9 oral presentation participants. Participants came from home workers such as PPR, medical physicists, radiographers, doctors and hospital management. Also present were practitioners and experts and observers of radiation safety, academics and representatives from ministries/institutions in relevant fields.

The seminar continued with a presentation moderated by Taruniyati Handayani, Head of the P2STPFRZR, and the first presentation was delivered by Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin with the title "Supervision Policy for Medical Exposure Optimization".

The event was closed by handing over certificates and photos together with presenters and submission of the formulation for seminar results by the committee. [BHKK/OR/CD/RA]
