In Government Regulation No. 33/2007 concerning Safety of Ionizing Radiation and Security of Radioactive Sources, it is stated that the Permit Holder is obliged to increase the ability of personnel working in facilities or installations through education and training on radiation protection and safety. To provide guidance to Permit Holders through the development of Human Resources in the field of radiation safety, BAPETEN held Radiation Protection and Safety (PKR) Online Training from 28 September to 2 October 2020.
The event begins with report activity by Ummul Khair as the Sub-Coordinator of the Implementation and Training Facilities of BAPETEN. "The PKR Training Batch II was attended by 17 participants consisting of 10 doctors and 7 other medical personnel", said Ummul.
Furthermore, Ummul explained the purpose of this training is to provide knowledge about radiation, and radiation safety and protection for participants that working especially in the field of interventional radiology.
A similar statement also expressed by the Head of Education and Training Center of BAPETEN Lukman Hakim, who also officially opened the training. "PKR training is needed by all workers in the area or facilities that have a radiation source. In this training we will learn how to improve safety related to radiation sources. We hope that the knowledge that given by the speakers can be accepted and understood", said Lukman.
The training which lasted for 5 (five) days is filled with presentations and discussions related to problems faced by participants in their workplaces, and continued with independent learning. [BHKK/IP]
