The event began with an activity report by Ummul Khair as Sub Coordinator of Training and Implementation Facilities. Ummul said that radiation protection and safety training for the Supervisory Agency was attended by 25 participants consisting of 24 BAPETEN’s civil servants in 2019 and 1 person in 2016.

Ummul further explained that this training must be followed by all BAPETEN employees because it is a basic protection that must be followed and known.

Head of Education and Training Division Lukman Hakim officially opened this training. Lukman said that to ensure safety, security, health utilization and use of electricity, BAPETEN employees must be equipped with competence in carrying out their duties. The basic competencies that must be possessed are competence in the field of radiation protection and radiation safety. It is hoped that with this training BAPETEN employees can understand all things related to radiation and protective procedures and know the regulations related to radiation protection and equipment both nationally and internationally, so that they can carry out the task of monitoring the use of nuclear energy.

The training that lasted for 5 (five) days was filled with materials, discussions and continued with self-learning. [YL/BHHK/OR/RA]
