Opening of Regional Workshop on Establishment of Body-based Integrated Management System in Regulatory on IAEA Safety Standards
Kembali 22 Juli 2019 | Berita BAPETENBAPETEN in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held a Regional Workshop on Establishment of the Integrated Management System in the Body-based Regulatory on IAEA Safety Standards, on 22-26 July 2019 in Jakarta. The purpose of this training is to discuss the establishment and implementation of an effective management system for the regulatory body and discuss leadership to promote a safety culture.
This activity presented experts from the IAEA namely Ugur Bezdeguemeli, Darja Slokan Dusic, and Mihai Murafa. And as a guest of honor, this event was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia for Austria and Slovenia, Darmansjah Djumala.
The Deputy Chairman for Administration of BAPETEN Hendriyanto Hadi Tjahjono in his official opening stated that the supervisory body must establish a management system and implement it openly and transparently. The aim of the management system is to ensure that institutions are responsible for planning, controlling, and supervising their activities, as well as to encourage a safety culture through building and strengthening leadership.
Darmansjah also said that in carrying out its duties, the government must run down to earth diplomacy, which means that we must provide something concrete to the public, especially in this matter regarding nuclear use and supervision. And this is a challenge that is not easy, but must be faced.
Furthermore, Ugur said that the training focused on safety infrastructure, this was directed so that the ewgulatory bodies could work effectively and efficiently according to the management system regulated by the IAEA. It is also expected that the active role of the participants can present management issues in their respective countries, so that experts can provide input and solutions to the conditions or problems faced by their institutions.
Present as participants of the training were participants from 8 countries, Bangladesh, Iran, Jordan, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Indonesia. [BHKK/RA/IP]
