The Interventional Radiology PKR Training, Wave I, aimed to provide responsibility for radiation protection and safety and emphasized the importance of implementing radiation protection and safety during radiation-related work, particularly for staff in interventional facilities.

The training began with a report from the Head of the Nuclear Energy Supervision PNBP Training Working Group, Dessy Susanti. She explained that the training consisted of 12 participants, consisting of four specialist doctors (two thoracic surgeons, one cardiologist, and one orthopedic surgeon) and eight other medical personnel (radiographers, nurses, and the Head of the electrophysiology and cardiology pacemaker division) from seven private and public hospitals. The training also included a practical test, which will be held at Siloam Agora Hospital in Central Jakarta at the end of the event, in accordance with the material presented, from personal protective equipment (PPE) to procedures.

The event continued with remarks from the Head of the BAPETEN Education and Training Division, Ahmad Ciptadi Syurvavin, who stated, "This radiation protection and safety training is the most important basic training required for all protection officers. For us, as a regulatory body, it aligns with our mission to develop nuclear and radiation knowledge more broadly, adhering to the principle of prioritizing the safety and security of patients, the public, and the environment."

The opening ceremony of the PKR training concluded with a group photo with all participants. It is expected that this training will improve understanding of the effects of radiation and provide knowledge and guidelines for radiation protection and safety. [BHKK/OR/Translator: GP]
