Field Evaluation of X-Ray Machine Production Permit at PT Graha Teknomedika

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), conducted a field evaluation activity at the PT Graha Teknomedika Fabrication Facility for the X-Ray Machine Production Permit in Depok City, West Java, on June 11, 2024.

The Field Evaluation activity aims to ensure that the suitability of the building structure is able to withstand X-ray radiation in the testing room, inspection of radiation protection equipment, inspection of Radiation Measuring Instruments (AUR) and supporting equipment, human resources, and procedures have met radiation safety requirements and are safe for the safety of workers, the community, and the environment.

The Field Evaluation Team chaired by the Coordinator of the Health Facility Licensing Function Group-BAPETEN Iin Indartati with members Made Pramayuni, Sulistiyoningsih, and Dyah Palupi conducted an inspection of the production of fixed (stationary) X-ray machines of the DigiEye 330E and DigiEye 350E types with a maximum voltage of 150 kV, where PT Graha Teknomedika carries out assembly and testing on the X-ray machine. Meanwhile, the tube, generator, and several parts of the X-ray machine are imported by PT Graha Teknomedika from China (Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd.).

The scope of the onsite inspection of the X-ray machine production plant facilities carried out by the BAPETEN Team includes ionizing radiation generator production room facilities, document inspection, personnel, certification, test procedures, radiation protection equipment infrastructure, test equipment, and AUR.

From the results of the field evaluation, PT Graha Teknomedika is committed to completing the findings submitted by the BAPETEN team within a certain time limit. The smooth running of the field evaluation activities is supported by the permit applicant, who follows and welcomes the progress of the activities until the end; any deficiencies are considered as input and technical suggestions for fulfilling radiation safety according to applicable regulations and standards.
