Following up on the application for the extension of the IEBE operating license , BAPETEN Directorate of Licensing of Nuclear Installation and Materials (DPIBN) made an online discussion of the evaluation results of the IEBE licensing technical documents and also field verification. Field verification activities were carried out on 13-16 June 2022 in the The Center for Science and Technology Research (Puspitek) Area, Serpong.

The field verification activity was led by the Coordinator of the Non-Reactor Nuclear Installation Licensing Function Group, Widia Lastana Istanto. The scope of concern in this verification is the aspect of compatibility limit and operational conditions, nuclear preparedness programs and radiation protection program with their implementation at the IEBE consisting of pilot conversion plant facilities, fuel fabrication laboratory and quality control laboratory.

During the field verification activities, the BAPETEN team was accompanied by DPFK Safety Coordinator Agus Sunarto, DPFK Operation and Maintenance Coordinator Nasorudin, and the Nuclear Fuel Technology Research Coordinator, Nuclear Energy Research Organization (ORTN) BRIN, Ratih Langenati and staff.

During the exit meeting, the BAPETEN Team delivered the verification and evaluation results of the IEBE documents. In response to this, IEBE is committed to following up on the evaluation items and findings submitted by the BAPETEN Team within the specified time limit. (DPIBN/Awal/BHKK/Bams/Da).
