The event was opened by Ishak, the Head of the Legal Affairs, Cooperation, and Public Communication Bureau at BAPETEN, who highlighted the importance of the activity as a forum to discuss nuclear energy utilization in Indonesia. "Ladies and gentlemen, the utilization of nuclear energy is now widespread and even touches upon our daily lives. Therefore, I believe it is crucial to raise public awareness regarding BAPETEN's duties and functions," he stated.

Meanwhile, Jamaluddin Malik, a member of Commission XII of the DPR RI, expressed his gratitude to BAPETEN for organizing the event in his remarks. He emphasized that the oversight of nuclear energy utilization must involve the public to ensure greater effectiveness and efficiency.

"I hope that BAPETEN's presence here fosters a comprehensive understanding of nuclear energy utilization in Indonesia, given its extensive application across various aspects of daily life," he added.

The event continued with a presentation by Retno Agustyah, a public relations officer at BAPETEN, on the oversight of nuclear energy utilization in Indonesia. Her presentation covered the basics of nuclear energy, BAPETEN's role in regulating its use, and the associated benefits and risks.

Retno Agustyah also encouraged the public to engage in collaborative oversight with BAPETEN. She urged community members to report any nuclear energy utilization facilities they encounter that do not yet possess a license from BAPETEN.
