Chairman of Bapeten Jazi Eko Istiyanto received an honorary visit (Courtesy Call) of the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kenji Kanasugi, accompanied by Hiroshi Nishimoto as First Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources-Embassy of Japan and Shimizu Kazuhiko as Counsellor Economic Section-Embassy of Japan on Monday (07/06) at BAPETEN Building, Jakarta. The Chairman of BAPETEN was also accompanied by Executive Secretary Sugeng Sumbarjo, Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Dahlia C. Sinaga, and Head of Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation and Public Communication Indra Gunawan.

The Chairman of BAPETEN welcomed this honorary visit. On this occasion, Jazi congratulated Kenji Kanasugi on officially serving as Japan's Ambassador to Indonesia and hoped that relations between Indonesia and Japan could be closer in the future, especially related to electricity.

Furthermore, Jazi said that more than 10 employees had studied in Japan in order to learn more about nuclear technology and surveillance.

Japanese Ambassador Kenji Kanasugi also expressed his hope that cooperation between Indonesia and Japan can continue, and can share experiences in the field of electricity in the past and how to handle it. [BHKK/IP/OR/RA]
