This verification aims to ensure that all facilities, including the radiotherapy bunker and nuclear medicine room, meet radiation safety standards. Inspections were conducted to ensure that the building design, main and supporting equipment, human resource competency, and operational procedures comply with radiation safety and radioactive source security regulations.

Verification Details:

• RSUD Raja Ahmad Tabib, Tanjung Pinang:

The BAPETEN team inspected the radiotherapy facility, which uses a Saginova brachytherapy machine, HDR Afterloading System, with a Co-60 radioactive source. The verification was led by Made Pramayuni and team members.

• Indriati Solo Baru Hospital:

The verification was conducted at the In Vivo Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine facility using a Siemens Biograph Horizon PET/CT machine using an F-18 FDG radiopharmaceutical source. The activity was led by Herry Irawan and his team.

The scope of the inspection included:

• Verification of technical documents and the design of the constructed facility,
• Evaluation of the thickness of the radiation barrier walls in the radiotherapy bunker,
• Inspection of the radiopharmaceutical preparation room, enumeration room, radionuclide storage room, radiopharmaceutical administration room, imaging room, and post-radiopharmaceutical patient room,
• Inspection of the decontamination room, temporary radioactive waste storage, patient-specific restrooms, and patient flow,
• Performance testing of main and supporting equipment, radiation exposure measurements, dosimetry testing, and radioactive source protection and security systems.

Based on the verification results, both hospitals committed to immediately completing the technical findings submitted by the BAPETEN team within the specified deadline.
