The general session activities take place at the IAEA headquarters in the city of Vienna, Austria and will last for 5 days, September 26-30, 2022. In 2022, the IAEA raised the theme "Rays of Hope: Initiative to Support Cancer Care for All".

The Head of Delegation of the Republic of Indonesia was led by the Head of National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Laksana Tri Handoko, while the Plt Chairman of BAPETEN, Sugeng Sumbarjo, acted as Alternate Head of Delegation along with the Indonesian Ambassador to Austria accredited to Slovenia, His Excellency Damos Dumoli Agusman.

Other BAPETEN delegates who attended the event included the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, Dahlia Cakrawati Sinaga, Director of Licensing of Nuclear Installations and Materials, Budi Rohman, and Head of the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation and Public Communication, Indra Gunawan.

On the first day, Monday, September 26, 2022, the Indonesian Delegation from the BAPETEN element participated in activities at the plenary session which contained discussions regarding the election of the President and Vice President of the IAEA GC, Chairman of the Committee of the Whole (COW), and the reading of national statements from representatives of member countries.

The BAPETEN delegation also attended 2 (two) bilateral meetings with the IAEA Deputy Director General for Technical Cooperation, Mr. Hua Liu, and the IAEA Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy, Mr. Mikhail Chudakov. In addition to conducting bilateral meetings, the delegation from BAPETEN also participated in a number of side events. (BHKK/Auzan Shadiq/Bams).
