BAPETEN attended the Customer Gathering of the Dosimetry Laboratory of PT Greenova Daya Prima in Jakarta on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. The event was attended by the Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, Zainal Arifin, representing the Agency.

In his remarks, Zainal Arifin explained that ionizing radiation is invisible, odorless, and cannot be sensed by human perception. He emphasized that workers should not be afraid of working with radiation as long as standard operating procedures are properly implemented and complied with. He also stressed the importance of using radiation dose monitoring devices for radiation workers during their activities.

On this occasion, Zainal Arifin noted that dosimetry laboratories operating in Indonesia have been officially designated by BAPETEN in accordance with applicable regulations. He emphasized that all designated laboratories are expected to compete fairly in delivering the best possible services to their customers, while continuously pursuing technological innovation in the future.

The event was organized by PT Greenova Daya Prima in collaboration with Nagase-Landauer, Ltd. It was attended by representatives from BAPETEN, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and stakeholders from the medical and industrial sectors as users of OSL badge services provided by the External Dosimetry Laboratory of PT Greenova Daya Prima.

In addition to presentations on BAPETEN’s latest policies regarding radiation dose monitoring and reporting through the Pendora 2.0 system, the event also featured presentations on various dose monitoring services and OSL dosimeter technologies. These were delivered by Takuya Hashizume, Ph.D., from Nagase-Landauer, Ltd., Japan, as well as by PT Greenova Daya Prima. An interactive discussion session was also held, focusing on radiation dose monitoring and reporting, as well as exploring the possibility for hospitals to establish their own external dosimetry laboratories.

BAPETEN views this activity as a positive initiative to disseminate information and the latest dosimetry technologies, as well as to foster a strong safety culture through dose monitoring services provided by External Dosimetry Laboratories. Such activities are expected to be conducted on a regular basis by dosimetry laboratories. [DKKN/Suryo/BOU/KUS/BHKK/Da/HRUF]
