This is done so that all uses of nuclear energy in the world are carried out according to applicable rules to avoid potential radiation hazards and misuse of intent and purpose.

Indonesia as one of the member countries, always follows existing developments and complies with regulations issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

BAPETEN as a government agency that obtains authority under Law No. 10 of 1997 concerning Energy, is given the mandate to supervise the use of nuclear energy.

The Law also mandates BAPETEN to make regulations, issue permits, conduct inspections and take enforcement steps to ensure nuclear energy users compliance with safety regulations and provisions.

This is done to ensure the safety of workers, the community, and the environment from potential radiation.

However, the role and function of BAPETEN is not widely known by the wider community. For this reason, public education is needed so that the public knows BAPETEN more closely through the current mass media channels.

Considering that the mass media has a wide audience reach, the 2022 public education program, is carried out through talk shows on 4 Radio, namely:

1.Prambors Network 102.2 FM., on the program "Mangkal Bareng Rio-Rio Wicaksono", on 19 July 2022.

2.Delta 99.1 FM., on the "Afternoon Feel Good/Good Talk" program, on 22 July 2022.

3.Female 97.7 FM., on the "Afternoon Feel Good/Good Talk" program on 2 August 2022.

4.Global 88.4 FM., on the "Global Morning Show" program, on 5 August 2022.

The interactive packaged talk show program is expected to provide feedback to institutions, related to problems and simply contribute public suggestions to the supervision of the use of nuclear energy in Indonesia. So that BAPETEN's performance can be even better. [BHKK/SP/OR/RA]
