The event was attended by several government institutions, for instance, regional secretariat, mines, and energy official, state ministry for investment, the agency for regional development, law and human rights bureau, environment official, the health official, industry, and trade official, economic bureau and natural resources, and experts.

The Head of Economic Bureau and Natural Resources, Lubis R, representing regional secretary, stated that the aim of mining management is for the prosperity and the welfare of the people of Indonesia. Currently, Central Kalimantan becomes the part of nuclear energy analysis.

“Plenty financiers have invested in the mining industry at Central Kalimantan Zircon I. At least; there are seven potential regencies in producing Zircon”, Lubis expressed.

Related this issue, Deputy Nuclear Safety Assessment, Yus Rusdian Akhmad, acknowledge, human resources and natural resources are quite enormous. However, we are not comparable yet to developed country because of several concerned matters, and one of the problems is because we have not upheld the regulations yet.

The event was continued with presentation sessions moderated by Yudi Pramono, as the Director Installation and Setup Control of Nuclear Materials. One of the sessions explained about Nuclear Assessment Policy by Kasubdit PRD, Bambang Eko, and the current status of the draft replacement for Reg. No. 10/1997 on Nuclear related to Radioactive Mineral Minings which was presented by Dwihardjo Rushantoro as Kasubdit PRND, and the Draft of government regulation on Nuclear Mineral and Management of Radioactive Mineral by Donni Taufik as Plh. Kasubdit PINNR.

This public consultation was hoped resulting comprehensive regulations related to nuclear and mineral radioactive mining, including regulation of visionary matter in the future, recognizing the safety and security aspects, and prosperity for the nation-state of Indonesia.(bho/zd)
