Sugeng Sumbarjo, Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, received the award at the Coordination Meeting for Evaluation of Archives Supervision Results, which coincided with the culmination of the 53rd National Archives Day on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Samarinda, East Kalimantan Province. This event was held in a hybrid format, with participants from ministries and agencies, central and regional governments, high-level institutions, ministry-level institutions, and non-structural institutions.

In his 53rd Archives Day Speech with the theme "Sustainable Archiving for the Best Future," Acting Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), Imam Gunarto, said that the results of archival supervision are a portrait of the quality of archival management from the archive creator. Archives Day, which has been observed annually since 2005, is a significant occasion commemorated by all archival entities in Indonesia to raise awareness of the importance of archives in various aspects of social, national, and political life.

The archival award to BAPETEN was delivered directly by the Deputy of Archives Conservation, Kandar. In his speech, the Acting Head of ANRI, Imam Gunarto, said that every government agency should pay attention to the following matters:

1. Archives programs and activities must be carried out in a coordinated manner, from planning to supervision.

2. Assessing archival performance in a clear, relevant, and timely manner.

3. Use archive supervision as an evaluation tool to help improve archive administration.

It is hoped that this achievement can encourage improvements in the performance of archives administration at BAPETEN in accordance with archival principles, rules, and standards, as well as demands for the development of information and communication technology-based archival progress in government governance, in order to support the preservation of state archives as performance accountability materials, tools, and valid evidence, as well as identity and identity as the nation's collective memory.
