Verification of Radiotherapy Permit of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang

Verification is carried out as a condition on issuing permits to ensure that equipment, facilities, procedures, and human resources have met the safety and security requirements of radiation sources while ensuring the protection of workers, patients, communities and the environment. BAPETEN verifies the application for radiotherapy surgery permit onsite at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, South Sumatra Province on 25-27 May 2021, has previously gone through a series of administrative verification activities online on 20-21 May 2021.
The inspection team, lead by Health Facility Licensing Function Group Coordinator Iin Indartati, verified the Best Theratronics Equinox External Beam Therapy System teletherapy aircraft with a radioactive source of Co-60 originating from Canada.
Activities are carried out by strictly implementing health protocols, the inspection team must conduct rapid antigen tests before and after the activity and use standard personal protective equipment (APD) handling Covid-19.
The scope of inspection team in the field consists of technical examinations such as design plans, protection equipment, radioactive source safety, gamma radiation exposure measurements, mechanical system tests, safety system tests, commissioning tests, dosrymetry system measurements, and performance simulations.
