The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR), conducts online inspections of facilities that use ionizing radiation.
On March 25-28, 2024, inspections of health facilities in Bengkulu Province were conducted online via video conference. Inspector Ilham Hidayat led the Inspection Team, with Ardhiantoro Setya Purnomo and Novriman Livia serving as team members for the facilities under inspection, which include the Gading Medika Bengkulu Hospital, Regional Hospital (RSUD) Kepahiang, Annisa Hidayah Pat Petulai, RSUD Curup, and RSUD Rejang Lebong District.
The increasing number of business actors using ionizing radiation sources, which has reached 4,600 facilities across Indonesia, necessitated the development of monitoring methods by BAPETEN. BAPETEN should supervise the use of ionizing radiation to ensure that it meets established safety and security standards. Of course, relying on a routine inspection schedule will make supervision less effective.
This activity is an effort by permit holders (business actors) to raise safety and security awareness in the use of radioactive substances and ionizing radiation generators, as well as to establish a safety culture in facilities that use ionizing radiation. (DIFRZR/Dwicahyadi/BHKK/CD/GP)
