Technical Guidance on Non-Destructive Testing Licensing for Enhancing the Safety Culture in Radiation Protection and Radioactive Material Transport in the Non-Destructive Testing Sector
Kembali 23 Oktober 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 18 lihatThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) held a Technical Guidance event on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Licensing in Batam City, Riau Islands, on October 23rd, 2025. The activity, which carried the theme “Enhancing the Safety and Security Culture in the Utilization of Radioactive Materials,” was attended by 44 business operators in the non-destructive testing sector.
The event was opened by the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), Asep Saefulloh Hermawan, who emphasized that safety culture is one of BAPETEN’s key priorities, as mandated in Government Regulation No. 45 of 2023. “Safety culture is our shared responsibility, ensuring that all safety and security aspects in the utilization of ionizing radiation sources are fulfilled,” he stated.
The activity continued with presentations from two business practitioners. The first was Radiation Safety and the Transport of Radioactive Materials in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Sector at PT Samudera Oceaneering, delivered by Nika Agustin Kurniawati, followed by Radiation Safety and the Transport of Radioactive Materials in the NDT Sector at PT UT Quality Indonesia, presented by Joko Purwono Setyadi. A question-and-answer session followed.
The program also featured presentations from BAPETEN, including Safety Culture and the Transport of Radioactive Materials in the NDT Sector by Intermediate Radiation Protection Supervisor Supriatno, and Radiation Safety and Licensing by Radiation Supervisor Wahyu Ramdhan, followed by another discussion session.
It is expected that this activity will enhance the awareness of business operators/license holders regarding the safety culture that must be implemented and fulfilled.
