Technical Guidance and On The Spot Licensing Service in Surakarta
Kembali 29 Mei 2024 | Berita BAPETENBAPETEN's Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR) conducted Technical Guidance and On The Spot Licensing Services (OTSL) for the Utilization of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Facilities in Surakarta, Central Java, 28-29 May 2024. This activity aims to provide technical guidance and direct consultation to License Applicants related to the Fulfillment of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Licensing Requirements that have been integrated through Online Single Submission (OSS) with Balis 2.5.
The implementation of Consultation and Licensing Services is carried out by inviting as many as 50 different institutions each day, including Hospitals, Health Centers, Clinics, and Private Practices whose licenses have expired in the Central Java Province and parts of East Java. This activity was attended by participants according to the invitation and additional participants from other institutions that are in the licensing process.
The event began with the opening by the Director of DPFRZR Ishak who in his remarks said that this activity was very necessary in the need for good information and services, where BAPETEN also needed this activity to carry out the mandate to ensure that the activities of utilizing ionizing radiation sources ensured safety. He also said that if it is not managed properly by standards, it can provide unexpected potential, so let us together ensure that this activity can have a major impact on health and safety for workers, the community, and the surrounding environment.
“Problems regarding licensing aspects can be resolved properly, do not hesitate to communicate, coordinate, and consult with BAPETEN, where we will be ready to help,” he said.
The activity continued with remarks from the Head of the Surakarta City Health Office Retno Erawati Wulandari, who said that licensing is very important for agencies that use ionizing radiation sources. “If you still have problems related to radiology licensing, please ask the BAPETEN team. It is hoped that all radiology equipment in hospitals/clinics is licensed. So that the use of radiology equipment can be maximally utilized by fulfilling safety according to existing rules and regulations,” he added.
The event continued with a presentation by Ishak on the Licensing System for Utilization of Ionizing Radiation Sources in the Health Sector (Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology). At the end of the presentation session, discussions and questions from participants related to the licensing process and regulations were held, then a licensing service session and direct consultation at noon each day.
The second day began with the presentation of material on Business Licensing Mechanisms in the Nuclear Sector by Maradi Abdillah and continued with material on Acceptance Criteria for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology License Requirements by Ahmad Maulana. At the end of the presentation, discussions and questions and answers were held by the participants regarding the licensing requirements materials that had been submitted.
The enthusiastic attendance of the participants was utilized by consulting directly with the BAPETEN health facility licensing evaluator on the constraints of the licensing process for the utilization of nuclear power in the health sector and the one-day permit service can be done if the requirements are met.
During the two-day implementation of this activity, there were 59 incoming registrations consisting of new applications, changes to the addition of X-ray aircraft, and personnel changes, with the results of the evaluation assessment having met the requirements of as many as 35 registrations with the final status of notification of fees or receipts that must be paid with a 30-day due period for the issuance of KTUN.
