Sampling Test of the Applicability of the Concept of Technical Guidelines for Radiological Reviews in Health Facilities
Kembali 24 September 2024 | Berita BAPETENIn order to prepare Technical Guidelines for Radiological Reviews in Health Facilities, the Centre for Regulatory Assessment of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (P2STPFRZR) BAPETEN conducted field data collection by sampling to identify the potential applicability of the draft guidelines that had been prepared. The drafting team conducted a spot test at the radiotherapy facility of Primaya Hospital, Tangerang (17/09/2024), which was continued on 23 September 2024 at the radiotherapy facility of Hermina Hospital, Bekasi.
In 2024, the guidelines that were prepared focused on the use of ionizing radiation sources in radiotherapy facilities. This is because, in addition to the use of radiation, which has a high risk, the governance and infrastructure in radiotherapy facilities have been well organized, so it is hoped that good practices carried out in radiotherapy facilities can be used to enrich the content of the guidelines for implementing radiological reviews that are being prepared.
This technical guideline is used to guide license holders in carrying out radiological reviews that have a scope of review regarding the shortcomings and advantages of implementing justification, optimization, investigation, and correction of medical exposure. This follows Article 48 of Government Regulation No. 45 of 2023, which states that license holders are required to ensure that radiological reviews of medical exposure are carried out periodically at facilities for which they are responsible. Radiological reviews of medical exposure are also comprehensive reviews of patient safety related to the use of ionizing radiation sources.
