The use of radiation in the field of cardiology interventions although considered safe, but still has a dangerous impact if it is not supervised and controlled. Overexposure can have an impact on workers and patients both in the short and long term. BAPETEN is obliged to conduct construction on all permit holders for the use of nuclear energy.
As the embodiment from one of these coaching, BAPETEN held Radiation Protection and Safety Training Phase II Intervention Radiology Installation Workers online on 13-17 September 2021. The training was attended by 35 participants and aims to provide knowledge about radiation, the basics of radiation protection and safety that its application supported radiation workers in carrying out services at intervention facilities.
Head of Education and Training Division Ahmad Ciptadi Syuryavin officially opened this Training. "BAPETEN has a main task in the field of supervision. Radiation Protection and Safety training was carried out to develop knowledge related to nuclear and radiation" explained Ciptadi.
Furthermore, Ciptadi said that BAPETEN is expected to be able to develop nuclear and radiation knowledge in a balanced portion, namely by providing information about the magnitude of the benefits of nuclear and radiation to the development of human civilization and also risk information that must be borne by the use of nuclear and radiation. In the future BAPETEN will develop knowledge about nuclear and radiation that is not limited to radiation protection and safety.
The training that lasted for 5 (five) days was filled with materials, joint discussions and continued with self-learning. [YL/BHHK/OR/RA]
