The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Education and Training Division (BDL), held a Public Consultation on Evaluating the Fulfillment of Competencies in Radiation Protection and Safety for Healthcare Personnel Working in Interventional Radiology Facilities on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, in a hybrid format—both onsite at the BAPETEN office and online. This activity was conducted to ensure compliance with competency requirements in radiation protection for radiation workers, particularly in medical facilities, as mandated by the BAPETEN Regulation No. 4 of 2020 on Radiation Safety in the Use of X-Ray Machines in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.

The Public Consultation was attended by 20 stakeholders, including the Indonesian Society of Cardiovascular Specialists (PERKI), the Indonesian Radiographers Association (PARI), the Indonesian Society of Radiology Specialists (PDSRI), the Indonesian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Specialists (PERDATIN), as well as representatives from various other institutions.

The event was then officially opened by the DeputyChairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment, Haendra Subekti. In his opening remarks, Haendra stated, “On this occasion, we refer to this activity as a customer meeting because you are the users of BAPETEN’s training programs. We aim to gather insights about real conditions in the field, including your expectations and the challenges you have encountered, both in offline and online training.”

“These inputs will serve as evaluation material so that future training content and implementation can be better prepared. The more radiation protection trainings are conducted, the more collective awareness and attentiveness in the workplace are expected to grow,” he added.
